Our story

It started with one cat named Leeloo.

Leeloo’s journey from hardship to safety showed us both the urgent need and the extraordinary difference that ordinary people can make.

2020Founded by Jeannette & Jovany Martinez

After seeing community cats struggle for consistent food, medical attention, and safe homes, we knew we had to act.

Leeloo’s Friends grew from a couple’s love for animals into a promise: to notice, to care, and to bring people together around the cats who share our neighborhoods.

Our vision is simple—a community where cats are treated with compassion and have the chance to live without hunger, fear, or neglect.
